Kuari Pass is famous for its pure Himalayan beauty and unmatched panoramic views. Located close to the Nanda Devi National Biosphere Reserve, this trek attracts nature lovers and first-time trekkers from across India.

The biggest highlight of Kuari Pass is its wide-angle view of the Garhwal Himalayas, offering one of the finest mountain panoramas in Uttarakhand.

From the pass, you witness legendary peaks in every direction:

  • North-West: Kedarnath & Kedardome
  • North: Chaukhamba, Neelkanth, Kamet, Hathi–Ghori Parbat
  • East & South-East: Dronagiri, Nanda Devi, Trishul

With well-defined trails and gradual ascents, Kuari Pass is ideal for beginners who want to experience the Himalayas safely, confidently, and meaningfully.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Joshimath

Altitude: ~6,680 ft

Day Theme: A gentle beginning in the Himalayas.

We pick you up early morning from Dehradun / Rishikesh (with extra charges) and drive towards Joshimath via Devprayag and Karnaprayag.

  • Stop at Devprayag, the sacred confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers (birthplace of the Ganga)
  • Continue scenic mountain drive to Joshimath
  • Team assistance with hotel/lodge check-in
  • Rest, dinner & overnight stay at Joshimath

Joshimath to Gulling

Trek: 15 Km Drive then 2.5 km | 3–4 hrs
Altitude: ~9,600 ft

Day Theme: Slow steps, strong foundations.
Value: Gradual ascent builds confidence and breathing rhythm.

After breakfast, we begin our trek towards Gulling, located near the treeline zone.

  • Cross a small mountain stream
  • Enter mixed forests of oak and rhododendron
  • Peaceful campsite surrounded by nature

Gulling to Khullara

Trek: 5 km | 4–5 hrs
Altitude: ~11,200 ft

Day Theme: The mountains start revealing themselves.

Today’s trek is slightly longer, but highly rewarding.

  • Gradual climb with increasing mountain views
  • First clear sightings of snow-capped Himalayan peaks
  • Reach Khullara Top, a beautiful open ridge

Evening tea with views, followed by dinner & overnight stay in tents.

Khullara - Kuari Pass - Khullara

Trek: 8 km | ~5 hrs
Altitude: ~12,030 ft

Day Theme: Big views, humble footsteps.
Value: We pace the day based on weather and group energy—not pressure.

We start early with packed lunch for the most exciting day of the trek.

  • Gradual ascent to Kuari Pass
  • A breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view of the Himalayas

Visible peaks include:

  • Chaukhamba
  • Kedarnath & Kedardome
  • Neelkanth
  • Kamet & Mana
  • Dronagiri
  • Nanda Devi
  • Trishul

After spending quality time at the pass, we descend back to Khullara.

Khullara to Joshimath

Trek: 6 km, Drive 15 Km
Altitude: ~6,500 ft

Day Theme: Ending strong, not rushed.

After breakfast, we descend through beautiful forests of rhododendron and pine.

  • Enjoy final mountain views
  • Spot peaks like Pangarchula, Trishul, and Nanda Ghunti
  • Reach Karchi Village by afternoon

Dinner & overnight stay at Joshimath.

– Accommodation: Guest House/ Camp.

– All necessary permits and entry fees.

-Fees of Guide, Cook and Support staff, who are very well familiar with local conditions, routes and mythological stories which are related to this whole trek.

– We can arrange transportation with extra charge.

– Mules or porter to carry personal luggage of team. If anyone not able to carry his luggage, charges are extra Rs. 500/- per bag/day.
