About the Har Ki Dun Trek

Har Ki Dun, often called the “Valley of Gods,” is one of the most beautiful and culturally rich trekking destinations in the Garhwal Himalayas.

Hidden deep inside the Govind Pashu Vihar National Park, this ancient valley is surrounded by magnificent Himalayan peaks, dense forests, alpine meadows, and traditional mountain villages that have preserved their unique culture for generations.

The journey begins from the remote village of Kotgaon and follows the beautiful Supin River through the remote villages of Gangad and Osla. As the trail progresses deeper into the valley, the landscape opens into the spectacular Har Ki Dun valley, surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Kotgaon

Altitude: ~6,500–7,000 ft
Drive: ~190–200 km | 8–10 hrs
Day Theme: Leaving the roads behind, entering the wilderness.

Our journey begins with a scenic drive from Dehradun towards the remote valleys of Uttarkashi and the Govind Pashu Vihar region.

As we leave the busy roads behind, the landscape gradually transforms into a peaceful Himalayan world of winding mountain roads, deep valleys, forests, and rushing rivers.

Kotgaon is the gateway to our Har Ki Dun adventure. Tonight, we rest early and prepare ourselves for the Himalayan trail that begins tomorrow.

Kotgaon to Seema/Osla via Gangad

Trek: ~10–12 km | 5–6 hrs
Altitude: ~8,500–9,000 ft
Day Theme: Walking through forests and ancient Himalayan villages.

After breakfast, we begin our trek towards the remote villages of Gangad and Osla.

The trail follows the beautiful Supin River and gradually takes us deeper into the wilderness. The sound of flowing water accompanies us as we walk through dense forests of pine, oak, and deodar.

Seema/Osla-Har Ki Doon

Trek: ~10 km | 5–6 hrs
Altitude: ~11,500 ft
Day Theme: Entering the legendary Valley of Gods.

Today is the most anticipated day of our journey.

After breakfast, we leave Seema / Osla and begin walking deeper into the Har Ki Dun Valley.

The trail gradually opens up as dense forests give way to expansive alpine landscapes. With every step, the surrounding Himalayan peaks become more dramatic.

• Follow the Supin River deeper into the valley
• Walk through forests and open meadows
• Witness dramatic views of the surrounding mountains
• Gradually enter the spectacular Har Ki Dun Valley
• Reach the beautiful Har Ki Dun campsite

As we arrive at Har Ki Dun, the magnificent Himalayan landscape unfolds before us.

The valley is surrounded by towering peaks, alpine meadows, and pristine wilderness. Depending on the season, the landscape may be covered with fresh green grass, colorful Himalayan flowers, or a magical blanket of snow.

Take time to simply sit, breathe, and experience the silence.

Dinner & overnight stay in tents at Har Ki Dun.

Har Ki Doon-Seema/Osla

Trek: ~10 km | 5–6 hrs
Altitude: ~11,500 ft → ~8,500–9,000 ft
Day Theme: Leaving the valley, carrying its silence within.

Wake up early to witness the beautiful morning light illuminating the Himalayan peaks surrounding Har Ki Dun.

After breakfast, we begin our return journey.

The trail takes us back through the same beautiful valley, but the experience feels different. With the pressure of reaching the destination behind us, there is more time to notice the small details—the sound of the river, the forests, the mountain air, and the changing light across the peaks.

• Morning views of Har Ki Dun Valley
• Descend through alpine meadows and forests

• Return towards Seema / Osla
• Evening relaxation at the campsite

Seema/Osla to Kotgaon

Trek: ~10–12 km | 5–6 hrs
Altitude: ~8,500 ft → ~6,500–7,000 ft
Day Theme: The trail ends, but the journey stays with you.

After breakfast, we begin our final trek towards Kotgaon.

The familiar trail takes us through the forests and along the Supin River. As we gradually descend, the landscape slowly changes and the feeling of returning to civilization begins.

• Final walk through the Himalayan forests
• Cross beautiful mountain trails
• Follow the Supin River
• Pass through Gangad Village
• Reach Kotgaon by afternoon / evening
• Relax and celebrate the completion of the trek

After several days in the mountains, tonight is a chance to rest, share stories, and remember the beautiful moments of the Har Ki Dun journey.

Dinner & overnight stay at Kotgaon.

Drive: ~190–200 km | 8–10 hrs
Day Theme: Leave the mountains, but carry the valley in your heart.

After breakfast, we begin our journey back to Dehradun.

The winding Himalayan roads take us away from the remote valleys and slowly back towards the plains.

As the mountains disappear behind us, you carry home memories of:

• Walking beside the Supin River
• Ancient Himalayan villages
• The warmth of the people of Osla and Gangad
• Silent forests and alpine meadows
• The magnificent Har Ki Dun Valley
• The towering Himalayan peaks

Our services end here—with a calm mind, beautiful memories, and a promise to return to the mountains.

Kotgaon to Dehradun

Inclusion

– Accommodation: Guest House/ Camp.

– Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea & Snacks, Soup, Sweet, Egg.

-Trek equipments (Sleeping bag, Oxygen meter, Oxygen Cylinder, mattress, Kitchen,

 Tent, Toilet Tent, Crampon, Utensils)

– All necessary permits and entry fees.

– First aid medical kits.

-Fees of Guide, Cook and Support staff, who are very well familiar with local conditions, routes and mythological stories which are related to this whole trek.

Exclusion

– Any kind of personal expenses.

– We can arrange transportation with extra charge.

– Mules or porter to carry personal luggage of team. If anyone not able to carry his luggage, charges are extra Rs. 400/- per bag/day.

– Transportation extra charges
