Satopanth Lake is a triangular shape high altitude glacial lake situated at 15,100 fts above the sea level at a distance of 25 KMs away from Badrinath Ji. As you start this trek you are witness one of the oldest and holy River of India, SWARSWATI which visible only here in Badrinath Ji and origin of other holy river ALAKNANDA, Caves of Rishi-Muni used for meditation, Waterfalls Vasudhara and Sehasdhara, Snow- capped mountain peaks Chaukhambha, Neelkath, Parvati, Satopanth cole, Balkund Narayan & Satopanth Glaciers which fill you full of energy and thrilling. This lake has a religious significance for the Hindus. According to the legend, each corner of this triangular lake, the Hindu trinity Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh mediate here thousands of years. And, it is also believed that the Pandavas the hero of Mahabharat get salvation in this route. Draupadi wife of Pandavas got first moksha after crossing swarswati river near the Bheem Shila bridge, Sahdewa at Laxmivan, Nakul at Shastrdhara, Arjun at Chakrtheerath, and Bheema at Satopanth. Only Yudishiter, the elder brother of Pandavas reach heaven alive with a Black Dog who accompany throughout this route from Swargarohini which is 5 KM away from Satopanth lake. This trek is full of adventurous and pilgrimage, worth giving a try for it. Due to arduous and challenge nature of this trek previous experience of trekking in mountain must be required.

Day 1
Arrival at Badrinath Dham
Day Theme: Calm start. Clear mind. Feel the Divine power of Badrinath Dham
Value: A relaxed arrival prepares your body for High altitude.

Day 2
Badrinath Dham to Laxmivan
Trek: 10 km | 5-6 hrs
Altitude: ~9,800 ft
Day Theme: Trek along with Alaknanda River.
During the trail we crossing the holy Sarswati River and breathtaking view of Vashudhara waterfall with their gurgling sound. As enjoying this beauty of nature, we reach our first campsite Laxmivan which is lush green meadow, Where you find Bhojpatra (Birch tree), which used ancient time for writing. Overnight stay either ancient cave or tents.
Day 3
Laxmivan to Chakrateerth
Trek: 9 km | 6–7 hrs
Altitude: ~10,400 ft
Day Theme: Don’t walk fast, enjoy the beauty surrounded
Value: Slowly slowy acent start from here so keep patience while walking
Today trek is challenging, after breakfast we start our trek after covering 4 KM distance we find the stunning view of Sahstradhara (Thousand of Glacier waterfalls) and snow capped mountain peak Neelkanth in-front of us. Now the route is steep and narrow so be careful during the trek. After crossing the ascent and decent ridge, we reach an open circular meadow which is known as Chakrateeth. Overnight stay here.
Day 4
Chakrateeth – Satopanth- Chakrateerath
Trek: 10 km | 7-8 hrs
Altitude: ~15,300 ft
Day Theme: Views the Holy lake Satopanth.
Value: Summit decisions based on weather and safety—not ego.
Today is a summit-style day, but without heavy backpacks.
- Leave extra luggage at camp
- Ascend to Satopanth lake
- Cross boulder section 1.5 km long with slowly- slowly
- Witness closeness of this beautiful lake Satopanth along with Satopanth Glacier, Mt.Neelkanth, Mt. Chaukhambha appear incredibly close:
Return to the same campsite by afternoon.
Rest, Dinner & overnight stay a Chakrateerth.
Day 5
Chakrateerth to Badrinath
Trek: 15 km | 7 hrs
Day Theme: Downhill done right.
Value: Joint-friendly descent planning.
After breakfast, we begin our descent:
- Controlled pace to protect knees and ankles
- Reach Badrinath Dham by afternoon
- Plan Badrinath Ji Darshan by evening arti.
Rest, explore the Badrinath Dham, listen to local holy stories, and immerse yourself in mountain culture.
Dinner & overnight stay at guest house.
Day 6
Day Theme: Feel the connection with our ancient great Hindu culture.
After breakfast, depart for Dehradun/Rishikesh with:
