About the Pangarchulla Trek

Pangarchulla Peak is one of the most rewarding summit treks in the Garhwal Himalayas, offering a perfect blend of forests, alpine meadows (bugyals), snow slopes, and rocky summit terrain.

Open in both winter and summer seasons, this trek transforms beautifully:

  • Spring (Apr–May): Snow-covered trails and alpine adventure
  • Summer & Autumn (Jun–Nov): Lush green meadows, clear skies, and rocky summit push

The trek takes you through dense forests and wide bugyals, and also covers the legendary Kuari Pass, making it a must-do trek for every serious Himalayan lover.

From the Pangarchulla summit, you are rewarded with a 360-degree panoramic view of the Garhwal Himalayas—an experience truly worth every step.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Joshimath

Altitude: ~6,680 ft

Day Theme: A gentle beginning in the Himalayas.

We pick you up early morning from Dehradun / Rishikesh (with extra charges) and drive towards Joshimath via Devprayag and Karnaprayag.

  • Stop at Devprayag, the sacred confluence of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers (birthplace of the Ganga)
  • Continue scenic mountain drive to Joshimath
  • Team assistance with hotel/lodge check-in
  • Rest, dinner & overnight stay at Joshimath

Joshimath to Gulling

Trek: 15 Km Drive then 2.5 km | 3–4 hrs
Altitude: ~9,600 ft

Day Theme: Slow steps, strong foundations.
Value: Gradual ascent builds confidence and breathing rhythm.

After breakfast, we begin our trek towards Gulling, located near the treeline zone.

  • Cross a small mountain stream
  • Enter mixed forests of oak and rhododendron
  • Peaceful campsite surrounded by nature

Dinner & overnight stay at Gulling.

Gulling to Khullara

Trek: 5 km | 4–5 hrs
Altitude: ~11,200 ft

Day Theme: The mountains start revealing themselves.

Today’s trek is slightly longer, but highly rewarding.

  • Gradual climb with increasing mountain views
  • First clear sightings of snow-capped Himalayan peaks
  • Reach Khullara Top, a beautiful open ridge

Evening tea with views, followed by dinner & overnight stay in tents.

Khullara - Pangarchulla Peak - Khullara

Trek: ~14 km | 8–9 hrs
Altitude: ~14,600 ft

Day Theme: Summits are earned, not rushed.
 Decisions based on weather, health, and mountain conditions.

This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the trek.

  • Early morning start
  • Ascend towards Gailgarh and higher ridges
  • Enter the boulder zone—careful foot placement required
  • From Dec–Mar, the route remains snow-covered and technical
  • From April onwards, snow conditions become more manageable

At the Pangarchulla summit:

  • 360° Himalayan panorama
  • A deep sense of achievement and perspective

After spending time at the top, we descend carefully back to Lower Khullara.

Dinner & overnight stay in tents.

Khullara to Joshimath

Trek: 6 km, Drive 15 Km
Altitude: ~6,500 ft

Day Theme: Ending strong, not rushed.

After breakfast, we descend through beautiful forests of rhododendron and pine.

  • Enjoy final mountain views
  • Spot peaks like Pangarchula, Trishul, and Nanda Ghunti
  • Reach Karchi Village by afternoon

Dinner & overnight stay at Joshimath.

Day Theme: A beginner’s confidence unlocked.

After breakfast, depart for your onward journey with:

  • Your first true Himalayan experience
  • Confidence to explore higher treks
  • Lifelong mountain memories

Joshimath Departure with sweet memories

Inclusion

– Accommodation: Guest House/ Camp.

– Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Tea & Snacks, Soup, Sweet, Egg.

-Trek equipments (Sleeping bag, Oxygen meter, Oxygen Cylinder, mattress, Kitchen,

 Tent, Toilet Tent, Crampon, Utensils)

– All necessary permits and entry fees.

– First aid medical kits.

-Fees of Guide, Cook and Support staff, who are very well familiar with local conditions, routes and mythological stories which are related to this whole trek.

Exclusion

– Any kind of personal expenses.

– We can arrange transportation with extra charge.

– Mules or porter to carry personal luggage of team. If anyone not able to carry his luggage, charges are extra Rs. 500/- per bag/day.

– Transportation extra charges

– If anyone want extra sight-seen visit which is not mentioned above, Charges extra.
